The certificate will not renew via AutoSSL because it was not issued via AutoSSL.

If you get a message saying your Cpanel SSL has expired and you login to Cpanel and see the error below, this means your AutoSSL cert has not been renewed by the system.

We have found this occurs when you migrate a Cpanel account from a server that was not using AutoSSL (like OpenSSL) over to a server that uses AutoSSL. AutoSSL it seems can't seem to override or renew the certs.

Step 1

Open Cpanel and go to SSL/TLS Status. Click on view certificate.

Step 2

Uninstall the faulty certificate.

Step 3

Go back to the SSL/TLS Status page click the run autossl button again and wait a few minutes for the page to refresh or refresh the page after a few minutes,

Step 4

Now you will see green ions and the certificate is installed and valid.

IN CASE IT HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED LIKE ABOVE, PLEASE ASK YOUR WEBHOST TO ENABLE AUTOSSL FOR YOUR ACCOUNT.

1. Open WHM
2. Go to AutoSSL
3. Find the User's account
4. Tick Enable AutoSSL
5. Click the check button
6. Certs should be renewed within a couple of minutes.
